"God has a sense of humor." My ten year old daughter made this comment during our discussion about the past two days. I was reminding her to aggressively swing at the pitches during her upcoming softball game.
She shared with me that she actually prayed yesterday to get a home run during her game. She said "God answered my prayers, but not in the way I thought He would do it. Instead of getting a hit, the pitcher walked me and I made it all the way around the bases. I was very happy that answered my prayers and He did it in His way."
She then said, "Today, God showed me that He has a sense of humor. I woke up this morning and my left eye was hurting because an eyelash was stuck in it. I prayed to God and asked Him to make my eye feel better in the car. We drove to school and my eye was still hurting. All day long my left eye was hurting. Until mommy, you just helped me take out the eye lash. And guess what, we did it in the car."
With a bright smile she proclaimed, "God is funny. He always answers prayers, but in His own way and with a sense of humor."

It is awesome when youths can recognize God and His goodness, even the fact that he has a sense of humor. That reminds us that He is not the mean, stern God as some people envision Him.
