I thought nothing of it when I shared during a prayer seminar that while in college and graduate school, I would pray before every test. It didn't matter if I had studied hard and felt very prepared or if I didn't study enough and was anxious about the exam.
The Bible says "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God" (Philippians 4:6) However, I have had many nervous moments before, during and after my tests. It didn't matter what feelings I had at those times God always came through for me.
I shared this story at the seminar and encourage participants to pray always.
About six months later, I was doing a book event and promoting my book - Overcomer - from the Prayer Saved My Life series. A young man about 10 years old and his mom walked up to my table. His mom said "Tell her what happened to you." I smiled and said "Hello." His eyes began to sparkle with excitement as he said "I was at your prayer seminar months ago with my mom. You told everyone to pray before every test. A few weeks afterwards, I had a test that I was really worried about so I prayed before my test and it worked! I got an 'A.' I was so happy. Thank you so much. God does answer prayers."
I gave him a big hug and said "I am happy God answered your prayers. Remember to pray always." The Bible says, "Ye have not, because ye ask not." God expects us to ask! James 4:2.
What are you asking God for today?

What an awesome testimony!
Thank you for sharing that testimony. It serves as a reminder for me. Praise God!
I am presently taking a class that have several quizzes imbedded in them. I took the first one and failed it, so I am avoiding the others like a plague. I always pray, but somehow, it appears as if I am praying amiss, because I came up short that time. I will have to put God to the 'test' again. I need to remember He took me through Grad School with a 4.0 GPA. No reason not to trust. I hope to have a similar testimony.
